About Family Promise
There are over 600 homeless children in Wayne County. There are no shelters for homeless families in Wayne County. As a response, churches, individuals, and organizations in Wayne County have joined together to help homeless families regain their housing, independence, and dignity while providing safe places to stay through a hospitality program called Family Promise.

Participating communities host up to 4 families at a time (up to 14 people) for one week at a time, about 4 times a year on a rotating schedule. Families are provided a hot dinner, a place to sleep, a packed lunch, and a cold breakfast. Children continue to go to school, and adults either go to work or to the Client Resource Center in Lyons to look for work and/or stable housing, do laundry, receive services, etc.

The Williamson community has trained volunteers throughout the county. Former host site, Pultneyville Reformed Church, is currently a support church to the East Palmyra Christian Reformed Church. Our former volunteers may join us there or ask to be connected to another host location.
